Clinical Laboratory Analysis Preparations

To have this test, it is necessary to follow these instructions:

24-hour Urine Tests

  • Collect urine from the second urination of the day onwards, throughout the day and during the night, until the first urine of the following day

Specific Pediatric Tests

  • You need one or more sterile bags (available from the chemist's) and a disposable sterile plastic container
  • Wash the genital area with soap and water and dry thoroughly
  • Apply the sterile bag and leave it in place for 30 minutes. If the baby has not urinated, remove the bag, clean the genital area again and apply a new bag
  • Remove the bag
  • Place the bag in the sterile container

  • Go to the nearest CDC clinic to collect three slides and a disposable container
  • Before washing the baby in the morning, place a piece of clear sticky tape across the anal orifice, remove it and stick along the slide
  • Repeat the above procedure three times, once for each slide. Then place all three slides in the container supplied
